Lily in a Big Wave at Huntington's Dog Beach with one of her first toys a red stick.
Nothing stops Lily when her toy is floating in the water.

Doggy Wars
Butters showed up for a contest of who was the better Fetcher/Surfer/Swiming Dog on the beach ... I think it was a draw!
After 3 such contests to fetch the stick both dogs were exhausted. Well, for a little while anyway.
And, More of Our Doggy New Friends
A special thanks and hello to Dan, Kate & Jake the surferdog. As you can see Jake can do tricks as well as surf the waves at Huntington. In the first photo he's laughing at how easy it was to pull off the trick and in the second photo Jake is making fun of his owners Dan & Kate. ( Just Kidding) . Jake did a great job of chasing a water toy into the 2nd & 3rd set of waves before dogbody surfering back to shore

Tug of War
Our new friends Trooper and her master Erin came to play on Saturday. We were able to get a lot of good photos of both of them playing "Run and Catch" and "Tug of War". Photo#2 Trooper had a grip on Lily's toy and wouldn't let go. Waves were good and we were just ahead of high tide. Trooper even went in after Lily's toy and got to it first a few times. Always good to have a little competition to keep the dogs playing. They will play for hours if they know another pooch is after their toys.

The Amazing Logan
At first glance you might not notice Logan ,but after a few times watching this little dog go into the surf you would realize it's not the size of this dog it's this dogs great heart. Logan had no problem going into the surf which was over the heads of all the dogs Saturday and fetching his favorite "Floppy Disc" toy. At first we were worried becasue Logan would disappear under the waves for periods of time only to surface again and head to shore. He was just an amazing "Surferdog".

Doggy Surfing
The Dog Beach waves are always great as Lily the Surferdog illustrates Doggy bodysurfing while hanging on to her favorite stick. Lily is not your average surferdog. Lily is fearless and will go 2 to 3 waves out to fetch her toys. Once she has them, she's on her way back dogbody surfing to the beach. It took Lily a couple of weeks to learn how to battle the waves and successfully find her toys, but now she's a pro. Every Saturday morning we head for the Dog Beach at Huntington so she can dive into the waves.

Meeting of the Toys?
Was this the Toy standoff or the Boy standoff? My toy is bigger than your toy! Which is better a orange toy or a yellow football? Hmmmmm?
One thing we have learned is that our Dogs are swallowing alot of water. The better a toy fits into the dogs mouth the less water the dog swallows. When a dogs stool at the beach is full of salt water it's time to take "Rover" home for a drink and a bath. I would suggest bringing water with you and a small bowl. We've found that the orange water toys keep more water out than the bigger toys or smaller sticks.

Can Dogs Fly?
Do you believe in Fying Dogs? Well at dusk strange things happen at the Dog Beach. As you can see dogs can fly ... As both Dogs got so excited about finding the water toy our little brown & white friend went Arborne! Amazing!

This is our new friend Surfergirl "Debbie" getting ready to throw Lily's favorite toy into the surf ... Debbie watched Lily
for a while and wanted to get it on the fun of tossing her toy. Beautiful day at Huntington's Dog Beach.
New Doggy Friends
Beautiful day at the Dog Beach. 77 degrees and the water was in the low 60s. We (Lily & I) met Bruce (20 weeks) who was very adapt at stealing Lily's toy before it could be thrown into the surf. "Little Rascal", in the first photo he's attempting to eat my camera, and Dozer who is just getting used to the waves. He was doing alot of chasing.

More of Our New Doggy Friends
A special hello to the owners of Scout the Wonderdog. You may think Scout got the worst of this chase, but in the end he never gave up and ran
Lily into the sand on more than one occasion. There are more photos to follow and you'll see this little dog has alot of heart. Hope to see him again soon. Lily finally had to retreat to deep water to get Scout to give up the chase. Then his kind owners took him further down the beach.
Bella & Marley
We just met Bella & Marley the Surferdogs this last week and want to share them with you. Are'nt they great looking dogs? Bella loves the water
and the chase. We only had the pleasure of their company for a short time, but hope to see her again soon.

Watch Out Below! Dog Attack At the Beach
While we were at the beach we were attacked by a vicious dog. We have pictures to prove it. Look at this terrifying animal. (And the Size!) What is with these Wiener dogs anyway? Can't they just leave our huge helpless dogs alone? I guess we should consider ourselves lucky no one had any ankle, toe or foot injuries. His bark was bigger than his bite. :o)

Josie Rides the Waves
A special thanks and hello to Andy & Josie. Josie going after her favorite yellow toy Saturday in the waves. If you would like a closer look go to Surferdogs 5 Josie just it made out of the surf before a couple big waves hit. She was right back in the waves as soon as her toy hit the water. She did a great job of riding the tops of the waves she encountered. The dogs love the ride.
Special Surferdogs
We'd like to add a special thank you to Butters the Super Surferdog for his contribution to some great doggybody surfing during the morning. Surferdogs 4 We'd also like to thank Midnight the Super Surferdog, a doggy that will go to great lengths to retrieve a tennis ball. Hellos to Kathy & Oliver, Lauren, Morgan & Murphy. Water was warm and the surfers were out in full strength.
Lucy's Rides the Waves
A special thanks and hello to Kirt & Lucy. Lucy played a little run and catch on Saturday in the waves. She did a great job bringing back her farvorite football to her quarterback Kirt. ( He's really her owner. ) Lucy was amazing holding on to her football. The smaller toys are easier for the dogs to grasp, but the football really filled her mouth. One drawback to a smaller stick is the dogs swallow alot of water. It's good to get them out of the waves after an hour or so. Surferdogs 5
